On 02 and 03 December, we had the honour to host ITA-AITES Executive Director Ms Helen Roth in Singapore as part of our preparations for WTC 2028.
Day 1 brought us from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) City Gallery, where Singapore’s long-term city-planning vision comes to life, and to an insightful site visit at CR202 (Cross Island Line Phase 2) hosted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Singapore with the project team from the contractor Obayashi–STEC JV.

Day 2 focused on the future of WTC2028 with a detailed walkthrough of the proposed venue at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, followed by a short stroll to Gardens by the Bay, showcasing the iconic setting that will welcome our international tunnelling community in three years’ time.

A heartfelt thank you to the TUCSS – Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society (Singapore) President Mr Chang Kin Boon, the WTC2028 Organising Committee led by Massimo Marotta, Leslie Pakianathan and Alvin Sim, our TUCSS-Young Members rep Farah Dyan.
Also thanks to Ramesh Nair from LTA and the CR202 Contractor team from Obayashi Singapore & Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. for organising the site visit, and to our PCO for the excellent coordination.
And most importantly, thank you Helen for your valuable advice, insights, and strong support for Singapore’s journey towards hosting WTC 2028.
The momentum is building — and we look forward to welcoming the world in 2028.
